How infuriating it is for us that the Bible doesn't show any interest at all in Lazarus's aborted adventures in the afterlife. Three days! What was it like Laz? Did you do the Tunnel And White Light thing? Was it simply like being asleep or was there a wakefulness and bliss? Were you glad to be back on planet Earth among political threats and physical diseases? Did you say Whoopee! I'm back! Or was it a drag knowing that you'd not only have to live but go through the business of dying again?
If it happened today, our papers would be more interested in getting Lazarus's story than that of Jesus. The Bible chooses with more wisdom. |
