61 — Monday April 4 — Luke 9:1-36
Two miracles in this morning's readings: 1. the feeding of the 5000 and 2. the Transfiguration. The pair of them remind me that 1. Jesus' is able to meet everyday needs in a ridiculously practical and simple way -- bip! there's more than enough of what you need; but also 2. Jesus is up to something that the best of us can only dimly perceive or understand -- something that involves all of history tied up with his relationship with God and "the departure / exodus which he was about to accomplish in Jerusalem."
In response I want to be 1. more trusting and less worried and frustrated; and also 2. more trusting and less worried and frustrated (respectively).
Prayer: Dear God, help me to be more trusting and less worried and frustrated. Amen. |
