Well, I've done it. I've now committed myself to writing a first draft of my long-planned article on Mark 13 for the New Testament conference in late March or early April. That almost certainly postpones the focus on the Paul book for a few months at least.
I've got a basic outline for the piece. If I were starting a PhD programme now, this is certainly the topic I'd go for; but I sure don't want to write a book length study of this. I'd like to prove my points and move on quickly.
And what are those points, you ask? Last time I tried to describe them in a blog article, I found that I couldn't in a three-paragraph blog entry. I think that's one of the reasons I decided I need to write the article. And maybe when I'm further into it, I'll be able to find a way to state my case more concisely. |
