| So first I was going to call it What DID Jesus Do? But then Scott Spencer went and wrote a book with that name. Maybe I'm just sourgraping, but I think I'd have moved away from that title anyway. |
| Then I broke it up into four main sections: 1. Jesus' Teaching; 2. Jesus' Miracles; 3. Jesus' Spirituality; and 4. Jesus' Death & Resurrection. And I noticed that in each of the four sections, stories about food and meals featured prominently. So for most of the time I was writing it, I was calling it Back to Earth in Time for Supper: 40 Encounters with Jesus. |
| Now the manuscript is finished, my editor and I have been through it for re-writes and Marketing wants to rethink the title. They suggested a phrase from one of the early sections Christ is Not His Last Name: 40 Encounters with Jesus. I don't think I'd be likely to be intrigued enough to buy a book called that; would you? |
So I've now counter-proposed The Last Supper and Other Take-Aways: 40 Encounters with Jesus ... but I'm not sure the phrase "Take-Aways" will work in the USA -- any comments from statesiders? And Feeding 5000 and Other Cool Tricks: 40 Encounters with Jesus.
Book's not likely to be out until May 2005 at the soonest. *sigh* That seems so far away! |
