| University of Chicago to the rescue! |
Here's a great (but lengthy & detailed) article by Michael LaBarbera on the physics and biology of old science-fiction/horror movies. There's great practical tips waiting for you there should you ever find yourself shrunk to the size of a mouse or find yourself battling giant ants.
He doesn't mention one of my favourite facts, though. If you were somehow to be miniaturized, your voicebox will also shrink with a subsequent reduction to the space inside it for the air to vibrate. And since the air molecules you're living in won't have shrunk, you can expect your voice to be very high pitched; at some point only dogs will be able to hear you. As you can see, there really is a lot for you to think through.
