those who deliberately confuse evil and good

Blogger James Dolas was struck by a reading in Isaiah. When I read the entry on his blog, so was I.

Isaiah 5:20-21 (here in the TNIV):
Woe to those who call evil good
    and good evil,
 who put darkness for light
    and light for darkness,
 who put bitter for sweet
    and sweet for bitter.

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
and clever in their own sight.

Jamildo (as he's known in Brazil) compares a reference from CSL's Screwtape Letters, but the passage really struck me as a condemnation of 20-21st century authors like Philip Pullman who delight in the 'cleverness' of making demons the heroes and 'god' the villain.
