Like SIGN GUY, HAVE I EVER TOLD YOU I LOVED YOU? : Love Letters
from Your Computer arose out of the smooshing of two ideas.
For my Broadband Authoring (basically Director) class in Fall 2001,
I had an idea for a project wherein your computer would declare
its love for you. (Hey, if you spend a lot of time with it, these
things happen.) But, I didn't reeeealy want to do it, and besides,
someone had to come up with an interface for accessing the rest
of the class's projects. Hmmmm...
So, this was an amalgamation of the two concepts. After a little compu-woo in the intro, you get a series of lame personals-type questions designed to figure out which projects best fit your personality. As you make your selections, their little icons flip from colored squares to actual thumbnails from the projects. Clicking a thumbnail will take you to a screen with a description of the project (written in the voice of the computer) and a little trailer. This was all done in collaboration with a fellow student and the prof Heather Raikes, who is responsible for the whole pixel theme.
NOTE: Conky Films and Paul Curcio make no guarantee, expressed
nor implied, as to the quality of the projects accessible from this
page. Aside from some freelance troubleshooting, I had very little
to do with them. My personal picks are "Avenue B" (for
stylishness and design sense), "Travel, Traveling" (for
sheer artsiness), and "The Vacuum" (for mad crazy zaniness).
