Dog River, AL We are in the thick of it now. Matthews is dumping on us. Rain, rain and more rain. I am thankful we live on a boat. While we are protected from the winds at this location, they are strengthening. The bay is filling up with water held there by the winds. Soon I may have to use the Kayaks we bought yesterday to get to the marina office 50 down the dock from our boat. There is no danger, only the inconvenience of rain and the lack of mobility that a storm in this area brings about. Please, I am not complaining only setting the stage to explain why I wile away my days here reading and visiting instead of working. So what if Shaun, our son has to sleep with no lights, fan and that one incessant drip over the forward berth from the hatch cover. It will build character and provide life experiences for him. Besides, it wont rain forever will it? No worries Shauners, all will be done before your arrival. We are looking forward to our visit and cruise with him. He will be the first to cruise with us so we will need to ensure that we have the proper pirate attacks and maybe do some of our own looting and pillaging along the way to Pensacola. Yes, we can get to Pensacola. The GICW, Gulf Intracoastal Waterway is now open. We are sure to see signs of the destructive forces of Mother Nature along the way. We know that we will have to sort out how to get Dom on the boat at Pensacola and how to get Shaun ff the boat to the airport when it is time for him to depart. Those answers will come into their own as we move forward. Our goal is to have both the boys on the boat at the same time at least one evening. That would be very nice.
Skinwalker log October 11, 2004 The storm has past. No damage. The sun is out and the water calm as if nothing evil had come this way. Time to take a nap
