Blog Lag

sigh

OK...my iBook which contained my blogging software went in for repair a week ago...and was gone for a week plus a couple days. So the blog has not had much attention. NOR did I edit the Vasquez Rocks video...as it was also on the iBook that was in for repair. So I have been remiss in doing anything other than working.

Hallie, my lovely daughter #2, recently celebrated her 6th birthday. Her birthday was March 17th, and we had a small family dinner out. The party was this last weekend...a week after her birthday. Why? Because her best friend's birthday party was the day after Hallie's real birthday (they are two days apart) and we didn't want to hit parents with a double whammy weekend of birthday madness. So we waited a week, rented a bounce house and ordered pizza. The full account of the festivities can be found on my wife's lovely blog. Complete with pictures she took with her new camera she bought with money from her first paycheck (yaaay!)

Oh...and I bought a new computer. A powerbook. Why you ask? Why when you have a perfectly good little iBook? My wife asked the same question.
Well, because my iBook is terribly out of date (5+ years old)...and, well, I need this one for work. But you have a perfectly good Powermac G5 sitting in your office! Well, yes I do. But often I find that I need to edit on the road, or on location. Off to a clients house or to a place to demo my work (which is happening more and more often now that I am getting big in Final Cut Pro circles). And I needed a computer that meshed with that work. That had all the connection types I needed to work with the hardware I need to work with. The last generation powerbook has those, the MacBook Pro does not. Sooo...shiny new BIG (15") laptop.

Plus I just past the first hurdle of my edit (6 weeks in the making)...the "rough cut" of the two hour History Channel show I linked to above. Took a long time as I have huge amounts of footage and 9 battle scenes. Yes, this is a big show. All cut from my home office.

OK...it is late and my render (the computer processing the images that I modified via color correction) is done, so time to get back to it.
