"The cat says..."
...MEOW!"
It's 9:30 pM on Saturday night and I am watching TV
with my wife. Ok, she is on the computer and I am watching a show she doesn't
care for. Suddenly from the other room we hear a man talking follow by a cat
meowing. It freaked me out! There is some stranger in the playroom with a
strange cat...for my cat doesn't sound like that.
"Did you hear that?" I ask my wife.
"Hmm?" She says, looking up from her computer.
"Did you hear that man talking in the other room?"
"No," she says, puzzled.
Promptly the man talks again. This time, since we are paying attention, we can clearly hear him say "The cat says..." followed by a rather sad cat saying "meeoooowww!"
OK...my nerves calm down a little. "That's the See-n-Say," I explain. "Justice said it was acting a little odd. That every now and then it would just meow." Still...it is a little freaky to have a toy just go off on it's own.
So now it is 1:15AM and I am just finishing a movie and the man and cat have been periodically talking all night. I can't figure out how to stop the thing. It still freaks me out...like we have a little ghost kid playing with the toy, and only wanting to hear the cat go "Meeeeoooowww!"
