A World of Color and Light

“I do what I do, the way that I do it, because if I didn’t there
would be a hole where something beautiful was meant to be.”

"The Connie Hanna Jewels began in 1988 when my friend Sondra gave me a nugget of golden citrine ~ talisman of clarity, creativity and abundance. That simple and loving gift set me on a path which now invites you into the world where color and light dance through glass...

I am self-taught and heart led on this handcrafted adventure and living proof that transformation through the palette of art and magic can happen at any moment."
Connie Hanna 1996

Becoming an artist has been the most awe-inspiring journey of my human soul. It would be impossible to separate my artist path from my spiritual one. It has recently occurred to me that artists are somehow "ordained" by their communities to create and transfer beauty and joy. This is certainly what I see happen each time a person sees and gets excited about my work.

For eighteen years I have devoted my working hours to creating beautiful jewelry from glass beads and semiprecious stones. My unique designs and patterns are technically precise. My particular gift is the ability to blend color, shape and texture by putting to use my extensive new and vintage glass bead collection. I can imagine no greater gift than to have work that I absolutely adore and an ever-growing following of supporters who return again and again to capture the magic of that work. I use all sizes and shapes of beads and am very concerned with balance and harmony of elements. I have created a "signature" closure for my jewels which incorporates beauty, function and security in a gorgeous button/loop combination that is a distinctive feature of all my work. My earrings are easily recognizable for the spiral twist I create on the wire itself. I use only the best of Czechoslovakian glass, Austrian Crystal, fresh water pearls, semiprecious stones, Beadalon beading wire, sterling silver and 14 carat gold fill metals.

In closing, I must say that my life is one with God and therefore my process of creation is one in which grace, light, and divine energy are constantly present. I am humbled by the brightness of it all...

Be well,
Connie
