I have a new controller that uses an Arduino to drive a voltage across a resistive membrane, alternating between the x and y axes. It reads the voltage picked up by a mechanical pencil as it draws on the surface of the membrane, and reports an x,y coordinate, more or less. OK, so it is like a homemade tablet controller. What's more, there is a mic built in to the pencil and a speaker driver attached to the tablet.
