American's Creed Day - April 13th.

William Tyler Page, a messenger in the U.S. House of Representatives, wrote the American's Creed in 1917.
His essay was the winning entry in a national contest for the "best summary of American political faith."
The House of Representatives adopted the 100-word statement in April 1918.

Do you think children should be taught the creed?

Do you think you should be expected to recite it each day at school instead of the Pledge of Allegiance?

William Tyler Page said, "The American's Creed is a summing up, in one hundred words, of the basic principles of
American political faith. It is not an expression of individual opinion upon the obligations and duties of American citizenship
or with respect to its rights and privileges. It is a summary of the fundamental principles of American political faith as set
forth in its greatest documents, its worthiest traditions and by its greatest leaders."
