Dr. Sheehy is pictured with students in the front row. He was, for many years, the Director of Folk and Traditional Arts division at the National Endowments for the Arts. He can be seen performing in the highly regarded MENC video, Music of Latin America: Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil, demonstrating and discussing Mariachi music. These past few years he has assumed responsibilty of the Smithsonian Institution's massive "Folkways Recordings" collection as its Curator and Director. A recent article in "Eye Weekly" is must reading for those interested in Mariachi music.
