Artist's
Comment: I was in the art room working and I decided
to take a break. When I stepped out into the hallway the brilliant
sunlight bouncing off the roofs of the buildings outside caught
my eyes. I got very excited about it and Gina, the receptionist,
couldn't understand my excitement. I brought my camera the next
day and at about the same time of day I took some black and white
photos. I even had Gina pose near the window. It wasn't till
a few years later that I got around to painting that scene. I
decided on an Edward Hopper look. I also had my wife pose for
me for that girl near the window because Gina's pose didn't work
out well. |
