Comment: I like to get a very dark black and white
highlight with a nice range of grays in between. I like a strong
accent of black somewhere in the drawing, which will grab the
viewer's attention first. Knowing where to put my strong lines
and the lightest lines, that are so light you can barely see
them, is something I learned through experience. I'm not recording
the person's image like a camera, but leading the viewer around
my drawing using lines, shadows, tonal changes, highlights and
shapes. |
