LPT1, COM1, HIHRD1We're tweaking the Horizon Receipt Printer code to
handle communication out different ports, and we're going to have a new
installer ready soon.
I was down in Burlington today, and all their
receipt printers use the COM1 port. It was a simple matter to modify the code to
handle that, but since they're probably not the only library to do things that
way, we're going to make "which printer port are you using for the receipt
printer?" a choice in the installer setup
screens.
Dean figured out an issue with the Star Micronics printers that some libraries use, which is to toggle one of the DIP switches to turn the proprietary Star codes off. So far, so good. It's great to see the staff of other libraries excited about it. Time for a quote: "You folks are free to roam the grounds. Uh, just remember, one of our patients is a cannibal. Try to guess which one! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised." -- Simpsons, ep. 4F07, Hurricane Neddy Posted: Mon - December 18, 2006 at 12:10 PM |
