The Daedalus Project


Yeah, yeah, I'm a little late to the game, but Nick Yee's website The Daedalus Project has a lot of information about the social aspects of MMORPGs. I like the look of his site too. I still have hope though: no one's written about my ultimate reality theme yet.

At least in non-fiction, that is. Philip K. Dick had it all going on in his book The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch . Psychedelic drugs, interactive games, buying clothes for your avatar, it's all in there. I remember being rather disturbed from reading that book, not quite the same feeling I got from watching In the Mouth of Madness , or from reading H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulu stuff, but the idea of being stuck in someone else's creation is an unpleasant, and possibly true!, thought.
