Yahoo! Message Boards


I just learned that Yahoo! took down their discussion boards, at least for news articles.

I'm disappointed. I loved that stuff: the psychos, the rabid right, the born-again fascists, but also the "emperor wears no clothes" types, etc. My question: what was the straw that broke the camel's back? Someone or some company must have been getting dumped on. Consistently. In any other country, I'd say it was the government who complained. I'm willing to bet it was a powerful advertiser. Did any big company sign up to advertise on Yahoo! after that decision? Or increase their advertising? Or maybe a company figured out how to post spam ads within those boards?

Alas.
