Let it Snow

It looked like snow was falling outside this morning as flowers from our Knockaway tree gently drifted to the ground. After checking the internet, I learned that the tree's technical name is Anacua and that the little orange berries it produces are supposed to be edible. All I know for sure is that, as kids, we used to rub its sandpapery leaves on each other's arms. Ouch.

Zach and I ended up at the tennis courts again this evening. Today's lesson included full extension of the racquet arm while serving. He improvised a bit with his footwork. He claims to serve better if he starts a few feet behind the line and winds-up like he's pitching a baseball. The effect is a bit like Happy Gilmore's golf swing. I called a "balk" on him at one point but he didn't get it. "What?" I am surprised to find that Zach has actually been a pretty good student. I think he is looking forward to showing off his new skills on the court once school starts.
