Happy Birthday Bubba

Lying in bed this morning, I listened to the answering machine pick up. "Hello Keith, this is Ronnie, wake up." Okay, I can take a hint. Ronnie was over at Grandma's house when I returned his call. It seems he purchased a new chain saw and wanted to know if I wanted his old one. Heck yeah! I'm getting tired of buy charcoal for the barbecue and Claudette left free firewood for the picking all over town.

Uncle Bubba invited us to dinner at Joe Cottons to celebrate his birthday. I spent the afternoon working on a watercolor painting to present to him as a gift. It wasn't quite finished when it came time to leave for the party so I decided I would just show him the work in progress. After swinging by the house to pick up Grandma, we drove into Sinton where we transfered over to Bubba's truck for the trip to the restaurant. Cathi and the boys were a bit late arriving from Corpus but made it in time for dinner. Bubba has quite a collection of grandchildren these days. Molly and Rob's three little girls look like peas in a pod. Will's son William latched onto Josh and entertained the rest of us with a little "Blues Clues" song and dance at the table. William is also the only kid I've ever seen eat a radish. We moved the party to Bubba & Linda's house after dinner. Josh and Zach monopolized the pool table while Hannah and William did their best to distract them.

Joshua's going to make a great dad someday.
