Fat Lady Sings
The Beeville All-Stars were knocked out of tournament
play this evening. We picked up yesterday's rained-out game where we left off
and Mathis immediately ran the score up in a disastrous first (second if you
count yesterday) inning. Pitcher Ted Christensen struck out 13 but walked 9 (4
in the second inning). Ted settled down in the 3rd and held Mathis to a single
run for the remainder of the game. We rallied a bit in the 3rd scoring 3 runs
but couldn't make up the 6 run
deficit.
Our post-game dinner at the
Front Porch was marred by poor service and sour pancakes. Our last few visits
have seen similar results and I'm not planning to return anytime
soon.
Back at the house, things got silly
when we decided to use Cathi's eyeliner brush to darken Zach eyebrows. The light
blond hairs on his forehead are almost invisible and I've been teasing him about
his apparent lack of eyebrows. I tried to take a photo of the results but I was
laughing too hard to hold the camera still.
