Potomac Module Crew's Train Show Schedule, (Update last:
The Potomac Module Crew (HO) consists of members of the Potomac Division , Mid-Eastern Region, and National Model Railroad Association, who have an interest in modular model railroading. A module is a section of a model railroad built to a minimal standard set of dimensions, track locations, and electrical connections. We use the NMRA Module Standard that supports modeling in all scales (from O to HO to N to Z). The basic standards cover:
The type of scenery display is left to the imagination and creativity of the builder. The scene on a module can be rural or industrial, agricultural or urban, mountainous or prairie-like, or any combination. The time period model is also left to the modeler.
The use of modules allows a modeler the opportunity to create a section of railroad without a major investment of time, space or money. A straight 2' x 4' module can be made for about $30.00. Minimum track and electrical items add about another $15.00. A module is also easy to transport and store when not in use.
The Potomac Module Crew has openings for anyone who is interested. Joining the Potomac Division, requires joining the National Model Railroad Association costs $39.00 without the Scale Rails NMRA magazine, or $58.00 with the magazine. Included also is automatic membership in the Mid-Eastern Region, and the Potomac Division, Specification sheets on module construction are available in O (tinplate), HO, and N scales from the NMRA website, NV-NTrak, the Potomac Module Crew, or the National Capital Trackers.
