Did you know that just cloning your hard drive is not enough backup protection? If you don't always back up all software you download or purchase, including update installers, you might find yourself with a non-functioning essential program. Recently, I updated Flash Player and suddenly I could no longer view QuickTime files in Safari. Luckily, I had a backup copy of the previous version of Flash Player (which was no longer available online for downloading) so I just uninstalled the new version and reinstalled the older version. If you haven't backed up all those original installers that let you run your favorite programs, now might be a good time to do it.
