Welcome to the December issue of our monthly ezine for Mac OS X users.
If you recently updated to the latest version of Flash Player, you may have lost the ability to view QuickTime movies in Safari. This seems to be a common problem, according to threads in online Mac OS X forums. So, before installing any new updates of Flash Player, take some precautions. First, make a backup copy of the old Flash Player installer. Next, make certain you have a copy of the Flash Player uninstaller program. To update, uninstall Flash Player, then install the update. Repair permissions on your boot drive with Disk Utility. Launch Safari and try to view a QuickTime movie. If you see a question mark instead of the QuickTime symbol, uninstall Flash Player and reinstall the previous version. Then repair permissions again with Disk Utility.
www.automatorworld.com
I love Automator so I'm always looking for new ways to
enhance my use of it. Recently, I discovered Automator
World, a site full of Automator actions, tips and
workflows. You can download any of the actions or
workflows and, if you have your own Automator
creations, you can add them to Automator World's
collection. Automator World also has a forum but it
doesn't seem to be very active, so maybe some of us who
are Automator fans should join in and increase its
popularity.
We hope you enjoyed this issue of Tips and More for Mac OS X. See you next month.
