Zeno's Paradox
April 02, 2004 - Kos - "Screw Them."

In response to the recent bodily mutilations in Iraq, Kos of the Daily Kos posted a comment here with his thoughts about the four people killed and mutilated in Iraq:

Every death should be on the front page (2.53 / 28)

Let the people see what war is like. This isn't an Xbox game. There are real repercussions to Bush's folly.

That said, I feel nothing over the death of merceneries. They aren't in Iraq because of orders, or because they are there trying to help the people make Iraq a better place. They are there to wage war for profit. Screw them.

I'm not a fan of how we got into Iraq and I'm not too keen on the idea that we'll be there for the next few years, but we're there now and we have to finish what we started. I find Kos's comments very callous and inappropriate. I don't care if the men were mercenaries - what happened in Fallujah was simply barbaric. I think that Kos has just uttered his equivalent of the "Dean Scream" by adopting his "they got what was rightfully coming to them" attitude. If advertisers pulling their support is any indication, Kos is finished.

And rightfully so.

funny we didn't hear any rightist hue and cry when little green footballs made fun of the shooting death of rachel corrie, the american peace activist killed by israeli bulldozer drivers in the palestinian territories. why didn't prof. reynolds say that charles does himself no credit gloating over ms. corrie's death?

Poor skippy, incapable of determining the difference between a bullet and a bulldozer. So sad.
