Zeno's Paradox
September 18, 2003 - Grr...

I found out today that Microsoft's Jet SQL is a bit retarded. Maybe I'm spoiled by MySQL's SELECT ... WHERE (foo REGEXP 'bar')... syntax. It took a bit of Googling before finding out that the MS Jet equivalent is SELECT ... WHERE (foo LIKE '%bar%').... Maybe it's me just me, but percent signs make for aesthetically unpleasing syntax (not that SQL had any bragging rights in that department to begin with...). The project that is under construction is the NU weblog information and pilot site.

SELECT ... WHERE foo LIKE '%bar%' is the proper SQL Syntax, the other is Microsoft's own non-standard way.

I have recently downloaded Books and as I have over 2000 books listed on my FileMaker Pro database in OSX I was wondering if I could export them over to BOOKS. Any help in this area would be most appreciated. I would also appreciate info on any updates to books and am happy to pay for the application. I got it from VersionTracker Pro.
Thank you,
and kindest regards,
