Zeno's Paradox
July 29, 2003 - Almost there.

I will be receiving the 17" Cinema Display today. Tomorrow, I will finally have my PowerMac G4 with all the trimmings. I visited Holly yesterday and took a look at the Apple Store on Michigan Avenue for iBooks. The iBook would be the replacement for the portable part of my current PowerBook setup.

I've been behind on the cartooning, and with good reason. My original intention was to use photo backdrops in the comics with simply drawn characters to the fore, but after I discovered a book about cartooning at Borders this weekend, I decided that I would go all out and do this the proper and traditional way, penciling, inking and all that. So please be patient (as if anyone was eagerly awaiting the result of the invisible cosmic ray zipping to Earth) as I practice a bit and gather the materials to do this right.

I don't know if I posted this yet, but I was accepted as an editor on the Watchblog site. I've been working my brain on a semi-plausible article where the Dems might be able to field a candidate that would beat Bush, but up to now, I'd come up with very little. I think that after all the deliberation, I have decided that Bush is (unfortunately) unbeatable given the current slate of candidates and issues. However, this line of thinking has forced me to think outside the box, and I'll be working on a piece that talks about an alternative strategy -- the grassroots should ignore the presidential race, and instead focusing on creating customized messages targeted to local demographics that would allow the opposition (Dems / Greens / etc.) to capture the legislature. If the office of president cannot be won, then its powers should be sharply curtailed using the wonderful device of checks and balances built into the Constitution. Anyways, that's the seed and I'll be beefing it up this week and weekend.

The AP interview went well yesterday. Read the article when it comes out.

Test tomorrow -- just two weeks after my last test, I have a final. Go figure.
