Zeno's Paradox
January 06, 2003 - Almost Bedtime

I'm almost tired enough to go to bed, however since I took a four hour nap this afternoon, I'm not quite there yet. Maybe talking about myself will be exhausting and I can hit the sack after this...

Summary:

6:45 AM - Get up without the aid of an alarm. (Alarms only work for about two times when I set them. I end up getting up before the damn things go off.)

7:00 AM - 8:10 AM - Putz around apartment a bit.

8:10 AM - Start walk to work. Feel blister gained by walking yesterday. About halfway on way to work realize that the audiobook Zeitgeist really blows. Who wants to listen to a story about a pop band and its multinational shady manager.

8:30 AM - Get to work. Read news. Check e-mail.

9:30 AM - Meet with boss. Find out that NWU will hire me as full-time staff. (Woo hoo!)

9:45 AM - 11:30 AM - Putz about Chicago Homer website (link) in preparation for meeting with NWU classicist. Notice that the page is one huge collection of appearing and disappearing DIVs and how this actually is being put to good use for a change. Attempt to make Mozilla 1.2 spoof IE 5.5 on Win98 in order to check if Mozilla works with DIV/JavaScript page. Fail because browser detection is happening elsewhere than previously thought.

11:30 AM - 12:25 PM - Meet and chat with classicist. Talk about things that need to be done and what things don't need to be done.

12:30 PM - Realize that lunch is not sitting quite so well. Vow to work until 3:00 before going home.

12:35 PM - 1:25 PM - Attempt to start working on other projects and fail. Finally decide to go home and rest a bit.

1:30 PM - 2:15 PM - Walk home. Chat with framer about ideas for living room decoration project. Walk to hobby store and pick up 1/144 SR-71 and 1/72 Me262 models for later.

2:20 PM - Get home. Crash.

2:25 PM - 6:30 PM - Nap.

6:35 PM - Get up and walk around apartment. Start painting on model and mixing paints that have separated after more than a year of non-use.

6:35 PM - 7:35 PM - Paint on SR-71 model.

7:35 PM - 8:00 PM - Putz about on computer and do pushups. Realize that arms don't like pushups much anymore and resolve to bet in shape anyways. Look to Watson and see that "Law & Order" is on soon.

8:00 PM - 10:00 PM - Law & Order. Dinner prepared during commercials. Dinner is last bag of frozen veggies purchased in September.

10:00 PM - present - IM friends and ask random questions. Print out NWU benefits guide for education. Decide to blog a bit.

Sometime soon - Hit the sack reading about insurance and tuition plans. Resolve to pick a summer course tomorrow.
