Zeno's Paradox
November 17, 2002 - Weekend Roundup

Friday night, I went out with Holly to see "Kiss Me, Stupid" at the Block Museum's Billy Wilder film festival. It was quite a bit of fun and very funny. I'd give it four stars out of five if I were the rating type. She brought over her computer to do some work for her liberal arts class (something about Homer) and the last episode of "Smallville". (Nothing beats having a nice gal who tapes your favorite shows for you... :-]) She stuck around and worked on her paper on Saturday while I was putzing around doing my weekend stuff. I didn't get too much done that day, but I did manage to get the recycling bins I've been meaning to get and I played a bit of "Final Fantasy VIII". She wanted me to leave her alone so she could write the paper, so I was largely left to my own devices on Saturday. Later that evening, we went out with a coworker of mine to a pretty good Mexican restaurant and an experimental comedy show that was being put on by another coworker. It was either too late or I am comically-impaired, but I snoozed a bit through the show. Bad me.

Today, I worked on the stuff that I needed to do this weekend. I managed to get my Christmas plans figured out. (Quite the task if you have two families to satisfy...) I ended up getting a flight to Lubbock so that I can meet the Midland folks and an Amtrak out of Raton for when I leave the Folsom folks. I've not done the train thing before, so that should be interesting at least. Given my hatred of the airline industry, I would take the train both ways if I had my choice, but in order to do so I would have to ride a bus. The bus industry barely tops my hatred of the airlines. Long story...

Anyways, my calendar should be updated now. Apologies for letting it rot so long. I was also thinking of doing a photo page of the apartment, but that'll have to wait until later. I still have yet to do my laundry and it's getting to be bedtime.
