Zeno's Paradox
November 01, 2002 - Where the Hell is Jason?!?

So, I watched "Friday, the 13th" with Holly last night. It was a pretty decent serial killer gore movie, but I had one problem with it -- where was Jason Vorhees? "Friday, the 13th" and it's sequels is the Jason Vorhees movie series. Kind of like how "Nightmare on Elm Street" is the Freddy series and so forth. But there was no Jason in the first installment of "Friday, the 13th"! Apparently, our favorite hockey mask psycho didn't actually exist until the second film. I was so confused through the movie waiting for the signature mask that never came. Pity.

We also watched "The Dead Zone" which was a pretty good film. Not an owner, but definitely a renter. Christopher Walken plays a good guy -- how bizarre. What was more bizarre is that Christopher Walken talks about "Sleepy Hollow" a lot in the film, then years later goes on to play the headless horseman. Ditto for Martin Sheen. His senator character had presidential aspirations, and now he's winning Emmys with "The West Wing". Odd...

In other news, I cannot believe that it is November. Where did October go, and on that note, where the hell did I misplace September? Seems like it was just last week when I was sweating away in August. :-P

Computer nerd news: I'm investigating the possibility of building an uber-fileserver so that I don't have to think about backups as much anymore. I keep hearing about this promising thing called LVM and my interest is piqued.

Other than that, I'm boring. Feel free to post suggestions for what to do this weekend. It is payday today, so I have a bit of leeway. Should I go out and explore the cold city, or should I play domestic and do stuff around town?
