City of Vancouver - Country Lane #2

The City is presently building another "sustainable lane", this one leading from 5th Avenue up to the Vancouver Compost Demonstration Garden.

Starting construction - looking up from 5th Avenue. New materials brought in. Laying permeable pavers at one end of the lane. Pavers in place. Old concrete sidewalk used as a permeable surface. Pre-grown grass in Golpla blocks arriving. Grass grown in frames made of high density polyethylene (Golpla). More concrete used at the end of a driveway. Boulders, City-made compost and a swale. Empty Golpla to be filled with gravel. Wally Konowalchuk interviewed by the Weather Network.
