Today our local paper carried an editorial by Cokie Roberts and Steven Roberts which attempted to vilify President Bush for vetoing a bill that would have forced an expansion of the President's policy on federal funding of embryonic stem cell research. They maintain that Bush "takes a theological view, not a scientific one," and contend that his position is a "tragic mistake, and exercise in willful ignorance, not strong leadership." Read More...

I've had a couple of people ask me what I think about the Emergent Church. The Calvary Chapel fellowship of churches recently released a public statement that I thought was worth passing along. I appreciate much about Calvary Chapel, especially their commitment to the Word of God. My wife and I were able to attend one of their pastor's conferences a couple of years ago and it was deeply enriching for us both.
