Elevation Church in Charlotte
is using edgy marketing slogans to bring people
to church that wouldn't normally go.
Check out a (video) news report
here.
Their pastor contends...
"The Bible is extremely
relevant. The greatest sin in the world for us as a
church would be to present the most relevant message
in an irrelevant way."
What do you think? Would the Apostle Paul applaud
their efforts as a way of applying his own mission
strategy when he said, "I have become all things to
all men so that by all possible means I might save
some" (I Cor. 9:22)? Feel free to weigh in...

Have you ever wondered how we got our Bibles? I just
finished reading a really good article that does an
excellent job of summarizing the process in a brief
and simple way:
God ––> Revelation/Inspiration ––> Transmission
––> Translation ––> Interpretation ––>
Application ––> Your Life

Did you guys catch
this article in yesterday's
Martinsville Bulletin? What a wonderful
ministry! I know that this has been on Jen's
heart for a long time. While she would indeed be
quick tell you that it's not about her or any of
the more than 300 other pilots who volunteer
their skill and time. . . still, we're proud of
you, Jen!

"No one comes to an inner-city Nineveh
event unless you're serious about wanting to make a
difference in this world, and unless you're serious
about taking the Great Commission the way God
intended it, where you'd be willing to give up
anything to follow Him."
- Francis Chan, Pastor - Cornerstone Community
Church, Simi Valley, CA
Pastor Chan is one of the speakers in the upcoming
"
Operation Nineveh" conference
that is being sponsored by World Impact's
ministry in Chester, PA, one of our
missions partners. Would you
guys please lift this up in prayer?

Several weeks ago I was made aware of a website that
is promoting a "Blasphemy Challenge." I was stunned.
It is a campaign encouraging people to make a
homemade video of themselves committing the only
unforgivable sin – the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
In their video they must specifically say the phrase,
"I deny the Holy Spirit."
