Tuesday Update
07/10/07 11:29 PM
We met with seven of the missionaries this
morning and did a prayer walk through Highland
Gardens. We divided up into teams of three and simply
walked down the streets of the neighborhood,
interceding for the people who live there. In the
picture to the left, Andrew (one of the missionaries)
and Robert are walking up a street that is now mostly
abandoned. Following the walk, we met back in the
home of some of the missionaries to talk about our
experiences on the walk, and then we prayed together.
I am really looking forward to the team sharing
during the service this Sunday.
Following the walk, half of our team went back
to work on the house we are remodeling. The other
part of our team stayed at the school to help with
the children who come to the summer day camp. After
supper tonight, we all watched a video message from
Keith Phillips speaking on,
"God's Concern for the Poor." (You can watch the
video
here, click on Cornerstone
Church - January 12, 2007) Following the video,
we brainstormed and prayed about how we can make
a difference at home there in Martinsville.
There's so much more that I'd like to tell you about
today, but it's getting late and we're planning on
getting started tomorrow morning at 6:45 am! Yikes!
Thank the Lord for strong coffee! Thanks again for
faithfully partnering with us in prayer! I can't wait
for you to hear how the Lord is answering!
