This intranet software is designed to allow one or many organizations to manage effectively data and information and to manage communications with the outside world. The software allows the formation of teams of users, message boards which can be posted to by email or online, polls, calendars, project management, file uploads, file submissions from the internet at large and more. It was designed specifically to accommodate the workings of a student-run law review but is well suited for more general applications, including, perhaps, an entire school with multiple organizations corresponding to that school's departments and multiple organizations corresponding to the various organizations within that department. (For example, Jones School -> Law School -> Jones Law Review - or the software can be used by Jones Law Review only.)
Installation instructions cover server set-up for Mac OS X clients. Other operating systems, including Linux and other unix flavors, are compatible, and installation on those platforms is very similar to that covered here.
Setting Up the Main Organization. Instructions for the initial configuration of your intranet after the software has been installed.
Setting Up an Active Organization. Instructions for setting up an organization (like Jones Law Review, or Jones Law School) that will be populated by users, teams, etc.
Example configuration of a law review. This example covers the configuration of a typical law review, including instructions for handling online submissions.
This is the second draft of these instructions, which are still far from complete. Feel free to drop me a line at christianturner@mac.com if you have any questions.
