Started in 1993, Medium Productions features the works of Steve Jansen, Richard Barbieri and Mick Karn, all formerly of the group Japan / Rain Tree Crow. Seen as a means to release material outside of commercial label constraints, Medium aims to filter it's products through a network of distributors and licensees throughout the world, as well as offering the chance to purchase via mail order, allowing Jansen, Barbieri & Karn the opportunity to produce and market their own material. So far, three releases are currently available on the Medium label. Projects featuring collaborations between the trio and various other artists are to be a part of the Medium Series. 'Beginning To Melt' is the first of this series. |
