Entrances

Walkers are confined to the left hand side of the Stanhope Road entrance because the rest is overgrown with ground ivy. Part of the original handrail survives here, but most handrails on most steps have collapsed and need replacing.

At Northwood Road and other places, users have created informal tracks up and down embankments. These represent real desire lines and need to be accommodated.

Here and informal ramp had developed next to the original steps and some have been lost from the flight. Basic repair is needed in many instances. Whilst not accessible to people with severe impairments, many with lesser impairments would benefit from regular and well maintained steps with a handrail. The severely impaired may need full RADAR gates where there are level access opportunities, such as from the Finsbury Park bridge and at Mountview Road.
