The original resource page on John Kerry's Vietnam medals was established on August 26, 2004. Truth and Unfit for Command was added on September 4. The essay was revised and amended almost daily up to late October. Major changes since then are recorded here:
- November 18: Revised the Sampan Incident review.
- January 5, 2005: Increased the visbility of the discussion of the role of Don Droz in the Introduction.
- March 15: Added names of the three UDT personnel involved in Sealords mission 270 to the Silver Star review. Added complete text of LTJG Upton's letter to the Silver Star documentation.
- March 16: Placed two photos in the Introduction: [1] Droz, Kerry, and Rood, together at the awards ceremony at An Thoi on March 6, 1969, and [2] Thorson, Alston, and Sandusky (on the right) sharing a beer and a smoke. Also revised Part II.
- April 27: Updated the essay to account for new (to me) information about the service records of O'Neill and Thurlow.
- November 11: Replaced all of the broken links to PDFs on JohnKerry.com with links to a set of reorganized and revised PDFs. See John Kerry's Vietnam medals.
- May 17, 2006: Added a new section to the Christmas in Cambodia review, debunking O'Neill's claim that "River Division 531" was in charge of PBRs in the rivers of the upper Mekong Delta. Also added links to SEALORDS: A Front in a Frontless War throughout the site. Also expanded the discussion of Earl Hollister's casualty report and the spot report for Sealords 358 with respect to Kerry's third Purple Heart.
- June 16: Revised the first Purple Heart review in response to Lipscomb's article on the subject. Also revised the discussion of A Trip to An Thoi.
- July 4: Added complete text of LTJG Gibson's letter to the Silver Star documentation.
- July 27: Changed the Introduction (and elsewhere) to account for Operation Order 201-69, which plainly states that the OTC was responsible for spot reports.
- October 10: Noted James Wasser's role as the board-and-search interpreter on PCF-60 during the mission on the night of December 2, 1968.
- October 23: Major update to the discussion of the March 13 timeline, arguing that Elliot was in charge of the mission and put together the spot report.
- April 7, 2007: Another revision to the first Purple Heart review, pointing out the obvious, undeniable truth that Hibbard and Schachte left the paperwork behind for their relief to deal with.
- November 27: Updated discussion of the later Silver Star citations to include the comments on this provided by the Navy inspector general.
- December 12: Updated discussion and documentation to include Chenoweth's notebook.
