New in iStill 1.2! Build QTVR Objects

QuickTime VR Objects are amazing. Here are some of the more popular uses for them:
1) Showcasing products. Apple posts QTVR Objects of all new PowerBooks and iBooks when they're released.

2) Selling online. Online auctions have created more demanding buyers. You can reach them easier with high-resolution virtual objects.

3) Photographing or Documenting real-world objects. Being able to spin an object around, zoom in and out, is far preferable to still images for some things. iStill lets you do it all, with unparalleled simplicity.

The QuickTimeVR Object Builder lets you create web-ready QTVR Objects with drag-and-drop simplicity.

Just drag any JPEG files, up to 1024x768, from any source (iStill, digital camera, scanner, screenshots from a game) into the Object Builder, drag them into the order you want them shown, and click the Build button. iStill does the rest.

iStill also has printable rotation markers to catch the perfect spin.

DV Camcorder to Print-Ready Image

Extracting a good still image from a DV Camcorder is not an easy thing to do. With iStill, it's as easy as a single click.

This image was taken from a DV Camcorder. It was one of thousands of stills.

iStill gives you the ability to perform deep scans, even on digital video stills, providing far better quality than any other means of image capture.

Real World History

Camera Circuitry.
Normal and iStill.
iSight
Remembering where all those screws went, or showing a customer specifically what was wrong with their computer has been next to impossible in the past. With iStill, you can record anything, even precision electronics work, effortlessly. Only iStill offers deep image scanning and iSight Artifact Removal. This image quality is impossible with any other tool.

Some things weren't meant to be scanned

These are a few pics submitted by iStill users.
The possibilities are endless.

I, Robot Builder
Eugene builds robots in his spare time. iStill helps him document where he screwed up. Full Screen Mode was his request.
Piano Man
Martin fixes antique pianos. An iSight camera, PowerBook, and iStill help him see where he normally can't.
First Tooth
Alex's first lost tooth, now immortalized in digital media.
Chomp
This 25 year old skeleton of a baby Horned Lizard is very fragile, making a scan impossible (pic by author).
Child's Play
Not only did he draw this picture, a 6-year-old also scanned the picture. If a 6 year old can do it, you can too!
Bad Wiring
Bill builds audio electronics. iStill documents things before he changes them. iStill (and this picture) saved him from a $5,000 mistake.

Flower Power
Maria uses iStill and a DV Camcorder to document the effects of various growth products on flowers.

With iStill, you can scan anywhere you can use your PowerBook, or scan directly from your DV recordings.

Scanning on the go

iSight

Toting around a scanner is just not practical. And airlines tend to frown on passengers who want to use flatbed scanners in-flight. iStill uses hardware you already have, and its realtime hardware control makes it perfect for scanning business cards, signatures, and notes with incredible resolution.

Impress clients with your ability to instantly import fabric, paint, swatches or company colors straight into your Mac!

The artist's tool

3' x 5' DV Camera

For many artists, digital tools are a far cry from their real-world counterparts. iStill lets you work on your favorite medium with whatever tools you prefer, and imports your work immediately. You don't need to wait for paint to dry, or figure out how to cram your canvas onto the scanner, and you don't need to wonder how the photo you're taking will look onscreen.

Four Stages of iStill's Image Enhancement

Stage 1) Intuitive User Interface

Stage 2) Advanced Control

Stage 3) Powerful Image Enhancement

Stage 4) Deep Scan

You will never notice iStill's interface. It's designed to be as unobtrusive as possible, allowing you to get your work done quickly and easily.

It features an on-demand backdrop window, a full-screen mode, pre-set optimized window dimensions, and a slew of other simple features you'll probably never realize you're using.

Everything is where it should be. There are no extraneous parts laying around, or weird User Interface gadgets. It just works.

With iStill, you can tweak focus, brightness, hue, and saturation as you shoot the picture. iStill gives you further access to the iSight's internal Realtime Sharpen settings, as well as Zoom if your FireWire camera supports it. And of course, you can get the rotation of an image manually.

iStill's proprietary image enhancement filters out visual noise created by specific digital cameras. It works particularly well for Apple's iSight, correcting hardware specific artifacts, without altering image quality in the slightest.

iStill is the only software product for the Macintosh with this capability.

Yellow becomes white,
dull becomes sharp

Based on long-range telescope technology, the iSight's proprietary Deep Scan engine enhances your image in a way that filters and hours of Photoshop work could never do--it sharpens the image based on what is actually there, seeing beyond what the camera is normally capable of showing.

On average, a digital camera like the iSight sees about 75% of an image accurately. A millisecond later, it may see a different 75% accurately. By measuring multiple images in rapid succession, iStill can quickly discover what is real and what is almost real.

The finished image is astonishingly clear. This is similar to Image Stacking, a method used in astronomy. iStill's engine runs in real time though, enhancing the image as it is observed.

This results in a faster scan, and fewer intermediate files laying around.Only iStill has this technology, and it exists only on MacOSX.

Requirements for iStill 1.0: An iSight or any webcam or DV Camcorder, any Mac that can access the camera. QuickTime 6.4 or later.
