I just bought a new Mac, and it reminded me that Apple only allows five Macs to be authorized per iTunes account.

That means if you don't de-authorize each Mac before you give it away or sell it, that machine takes up one of your five alloted computers.

Apple used to require that we contact them to have a computer not in our possession de-authorized. But now you can do it yourself. Sort of. Check this out.
