Make your Mac's serial number easy to read






Remember when we had to flip our Macs over (in some instances) to get its serial number? Now it's a lot easier, as you know.

In OS X, all you need to do is navigate to the blue Apple icon in the menu and select "About this Mac." Then click the text "Version 10.x.x" twice and the serial number appears.

I take this SN and put it into an Addressbook.app contact for my Mac. I have one for each of the Macs I own.

Addressbook.app has a great feature that lets you display a phone number in huge type across your display. It's a great idea, and you can use it to display your Mac's SN making it really easy to read off when you call for AppleCare support, etc.
