Wonder how mad everyone will be if all Apple announces tomorrow is the availability of some movies through the iTunes Music Store? Really, it's taking more and more to impress fans and press alike.

Logically, Apple should introduce an iPod video with a larger display than they're shipping now, but they don't have to. Apple could ship an appliance that will send the downloaded movies to users' TVs, but they don't have to; we can watch downloaded movies on current equipment.

Amazon just announced the availability of movie downloads and they're not building any special equipment, nor are they (that I know of) partnering with any 3rd parties to introduce special hardware.

Less isn't more with Apple, but they do tend to lean toward the conservative side lately. I'm not expecting the world to change tomorrow. Not at all.


