On Apple secrets

Have you seen the summer 2006 WWDC keynote stream? Check it out here.

There's an incredible sequence where the forthcoming Vista is compared to OS X. The similarities-if all true and accurate-are astounding. Truly.

With that in mind, I'm retracting any critical comments I've made about Apple's habit of keeping products a secret. Don't be confused, however, I've always been mostly pro-secret.

Companies should be allowed to talk about products when they so choose. The fact that Microsoft has leaned on Apple so hard in developing their own products is yet one more reason to support Apple's tight-lipped policies.

Again, if you haven't seen the comparison take a few minutes to watch it. If you're on the fence it might well change your mind.
