Finally, a Blackberry you can use with your Mac

Nice. RIM is going to sell their new Blackberry 7100t through T-Mobile shortly. The reviews are all over the web, and they're pretty good. Despite some new features that look pretty good, I was only interested in whether or not the 7100t packed Bluetooth.

Bluetooth is great stuff. Besides being able to use it to connect devices to a Mac, mobile phones with Bluetooth can use wireless headsets. I'm a huge fan of the Jabra Freespeak, and any phone I buy has to have Bluetooth as a result.

Despite the promise of Bluetooth, it seems a lot of manufacturers overlook the technology. RIM has had customers foaming at the mouth for its inclusion. It took a while, but it appears as though it will have been worth the wait.

It looks like I'll be waiting a bit longer for a Bluetooth-endowed Blackberry. We just moved into an area where AT&T has zero signal. ZERO. Hard to believe given that we live in an urban area, but according to the company we are in a "dead-spot."

As a result, I'm shopping for a new provider. T-Mobile is one company neighbors have recommended, and Amazon has a great deal on the Sony T610. It's old, but they're paying customers a net $150 to buy one. Currently, Amazon is also offering $30 off the Freespeak, so I'll grab another and give my wife my original Freespeak; she's not a Bluetooth user, but after a week of using it I think she'll be a fan.
