Galbadia Military OCC
(Version 1.01 - Last Modified: 07/21/2006)
Introduction
The Galbadia Republic is led by President For Life Vinzer Deling and under his
rule, the republic has grown from a single, powerful city-state, to the
continent spanning empire that it is today. First the powerful Galbadia
Military was expanded and improved, and then it swept across the broad plains
and deserts that cover much of the Galbadia continent. Eventually, the
military occupied the great cities of Timber and Winhill, and their attack on
the city of Dollet was the first act of what has become known as the
War of the Gardens.
The Galbadia Military, currently under the command of General Carroway,
operates three distinct military occupations, one for basic soldiers, one for
elite soldiers, and one for the special forces soldiers known as paratroopers.
The basic foot soldiers are given only rudimentary training and they are often
treated with little respect. Ironically, the most prevalent form of punishment
used by superior officers is decreasing a soldiers pay, often pocketing the
difference themselves. While this punishment may seem light, in the consumer
obsessed Galbadia Republic, this is a horrible punishment. The basic soldiers
also serve the role of enlisted personnel in the Galbadia military. The elite
soldiers not only function as officers in the military organization, they are
also powerful spell casters and are highly trained, especially compared to the
basic soldiers. Unfortunately, even the elite soldiers pale in comparison to
the paratroopers. The secretive paratroopers function as the special forces
soldiers for the Galbadia Military and almost all of them are graduates of the
nearby Galbadia Garden. Known for their fierce loyalty to President Deling,
the paratroopers are feared and respected throughout the world and only the
SeeD mercenaries garner more respect.
