Trabia Garden is the newest and least influential of all the Gardens. Built only twelve years earlier in the frozen lands of the Trabia Continent, students come from all over the world to study and gain the special abilities that have become the hallmark of Trabia Garden.
Funded by the nearby Shumi village and built into an ancient complex of the same design as the other Gardens, Trabia Garden was built to help lost souls and people in the world that did not know what to do with their lives. These people would make the dangerous trek to the Garden, or meet with their representatives throughout the world (but not in Esthar), and begin their training.
Unlike Balamb Garden, which relies on Guardian Forces, or Galbadia Garden, which relies on magical items, Trabia Garden uses special training techniques to bring forth special abilities from their students. These abilities are sometimes random, but the training techniques usually bring forth similar powers from the students. These abilities are identical to the Super Powers from Heroes Unlimited 2nd Edition. These abilities are hard to bring forth in all students, but with enough time, nearly all students who come to Trabia Garden gain these abilities.
Since Trabia Garden is so new and its curriculum is so intense, the student population at the facility is quite low, but very dedicated and generally quite young. The average age of a brand new student that will eventually become a Garden Mercenary is only 3 to 5, as opposed to the other Gardens, which have an average age of 6 to 9. The faculty at the Garden is also small, but well trained. The Garden’s headmaster and master were chosen from among the faculty members that left the other two Gardens to found Trabia Garden.
Following headmaster Martine’s (from Galbadia Garden) attempted assassination of Sorceress Edea using SeeD agents, Galbadia retaliated by launching missiles at both Trabia Garden and Balamb Garden. Trabia Garden was selected because of its close relations with Balamb Garden and to prevent the Garden students from opposing Galbadia’s plans. Without any warning, the Garden was struck by a barrage of powerful missiles. The central building was struck and destroyed and the remaining missiles damaged most of the surrounding buildings. Many students and faculty members, including the headmaster, were killed during the attack. The survivors spent the rest of the war rebuilding their facility, and following the end of the war and the interruption of Time Compression, the people of Esthar donated resources to rebuild the facility.
