Protoss Armor

(Version 1.00 - Last Modified: 08/08/2002)

Introduction

All Protoss Armor is designed to be used by the Protoss race only; most humanoid races are not large enough nor have the right body shape to use them. All Protoss Armor can be used in an atmosphere, underwater, and in space. When in space, underwater, or when needed to protect the wearer from airborne toxins, special armor plating will emerge from the armor to cover the exposed areas of the body, such as the hands and the head, making the suit fully environmental. As the suits are powered by Khaydarin Crystals, they weakly radiate psionic energy and all information from the suit is displayed directly into the mind of the wearer, there are no display screens.

Zealot Combat Armor

Since the end of the Aeon of Strife, the Khalai engineers have integrated modern technology into the ancient suits of armor worn by the Zealot Warriors. The result is an exoskeleton that provides excellent protection with no impairment of mobility.

The suit offers a number of benefits to the wearer, from enhanced speed and prowess, to a forearm unit that enhances a warrior’s Psi-Blades and Psi-Bolts, if available. The Zealot Armor is the strongest of the three different types and is only given to Zealot Warriors. In very rare cases, it can be given to other types of Protoss warriors.

Heavy Combat Armor

When going into combat, a High Templar wears a specially designed suit of combat armor that protects them from damage. The Heavy Combat Armor was designed with the High Templar in mind, but during the invasion of Aiur many of these suits were manufactured and given to the Khalai and the Judicator castes to allow them to defend the planet alongside the Templar caste. This armor is not as strong as the Zealot Armor, but it still provides significant protection.

Light Combat Armor

Light Combat Armor is a stripped down version of the Heavy Combat Armor. Templar Pilots and some commanding officers use it. It is smaller and less heavily armored then the other suits of armor and is not designed for combat except in an emergency.
