With the growth of the massive Zentraedi armada, the fleet of the old Tirolian Republic slowly wasted away, but a small fleet of Tirolian clone warriors was maintained by the Robotech Masters as their personal fleet. From their massive mother ships, the Robotech Masters felt safe and secure with their small fleet, but that fleet was all that the Robotech Masters had available to them after the Zentraedi armada was destroyed over Earth in 2011 CE and the Border Fleet was too widespread to be assembled and sent to Earth before the Robotech Masters' supply of Protoculture was exhausted. So the Robotech Masters abandoned their empire and the Border Fleet and traveled to Earth where they were eventually defeated in the Second Robotech War.
The Robotech Masters retained control over their personal fleet of ships in case they were ever personally attacked or if part of the Zentraedi decided to rebel, which occurred during the long battle with the Disciples of Zor. These ships were kept in perfect condition and were almost always ready for action, but as the energy crisis in the Tirolian Mercantile Empire became more and more desperate, the Robotech Masters scavanged parts and energy from their own fleet in order to maintain the rest of the fleet operational. This situation became even worse following the destruction of the Zentraedi armada, when the Robotech Masters were forced to bring their fleet to Earth to personally take control of the SDF-1. By the time the Robotech Masters completed their journey, they left a trail of abandoned and derelict ships that were drained of all energy and stripped of most usable components.
The Roil series of corvettes entered production at the beginning of the last century of the Tirolian Mercantile Empire and was a replacement for a large number of other small ships. No less then six variants of this class had been built by the time the empire collapsed upon itself. Used by both the main fleet of the Robotech Masters and by the Tirolian Border Fleet, these ships were used in a wide variety of roles from small ship engagements, air superiority, and mecha transport. The Roil series of corvettes were fast, maneuverable, and much stronger then any aircraft that the Armies of the Southern Cross fielded.
The Taul Detrel Class Destroyer is a direct descendent of an earlier frigate class used by the Tirolian Republic prior to the rise of the Robotech Masters. Vastly improved with new technology, heavy armor, and more weapons, the new destroyer is a much more formidable opponent and was the main ship in the Robotech Masters' personal fleet. All of the remaining active ships of this class were with the Robotech Masters when they attacked Earth during the Second Robotech War and none survived the conflict.
The Quiltra Draenitzs transports were built and designed to function as the workhorse of the Tirolian fleet. Able to perform a wide variety of tasks from troop transport to fleet tender duties, the ship was considered to be a success and was built in fair numbers throughout its centuries long production run. Although not designed for it, the Robotech Masters often used these ships for frontline combat during the Second Robotech War because they had few ships available to them.
These massive ships served as the headquarters of the Robotech Masters for centuries before the Second Robotech War. Originally built as colony ships around the early Fold Drives, these ships underwent a massive refit in order to use newer technology. The Robotech Masters and Elders proceeded to move their government off of the surface of Tirol onto the ships in 1450 CE. Unfortunately for the Tirolians, many of these ships were desperate for Protoculture when the Robotech Masters undertook their journey to Earth and several failed to defold at rendezvous coordinates and even more were simply abandoned with nearly all hands when their primary reactors began to fail, even so, seven of these powerful ships arrived in the Sol System and were nearly successful in taking control of the Earth.
