Tirolian Border Fleet Ships
(Version 1.01 - Last Modified: 08/12/2005)
Introduction
The Tirolian Border Fleet was constructed as the elite of the Robotech Masters' military forces outside of their
personal clone armies. The Border Fleet used combined ships that help both Tirolians and Zentraedi and their
mecha. Initially used for special operations, the Border Fleet was eventually moved to the outskirts of the
Tirolian Mercantile Empire to protect the empire from external enemies. Unfortunately, this meant that the Border
Fleet was too widespread to assist the Robotech Masters in recovering Zor's lost ship, so the task fell to Zolza and
the regular Zentraedi units. Following the Robotech Masters abandonment of their empire and the Invid invasion of
Tirol, the fate of the Border Fleet and their thousands of ships remains completely unknown, even by the end of the
Third Robotech War.
Roil Tiluvo Class Assault Corvette
The Roil series of corvettes entered production at the beginning of the last century of the Tirolian
Mercantile Empire and was a replacement for a large number of other small ships. No less then six
variants of this class had been built by the time the empire collapsed upon itself. Used by both the
main fleet of the Robotech Masters and by the Tirolian Border Fleet, these ships were used in a wide
variety of roles from small ship engagements, air superiority, and mecha transport. The Roil series of
corvettes were fast, maneuverable, and much stronger then any aircraft that the Armies of the Southern
Cross fielded.

Tou Salaam Class Picket Cruiser
One of the last ship designs built in the Tirolian Mercantile Empire before its collapse, the Tou Salaam
Class Picket Cruiser was built as a picket ship, exploration vessel, and support ship for the independent
Border Fleet. Replacing a series of older ships, primarily Zentraedi in design, the ship fit all of the
needs of the Border Fleet and how they operated with a series of supply depots. A ship of this class would
often serve as the only conduit between those supply depots and fleets on patrol missions.

Seron Thoun Class Battlecruiser
The main ship of the Border Fleet, the Seron Thoun Class Battlecruiser had a powerful combination of
weapons and mecha. While their size and firepower made these ships less useful for the conquest and
police operations of the Zentraedi fleets, it performed admirably in its assigned tasks of exploration,
special operations, and patrolling the edge of the Tirolian Mercantile Empire.

Sian Dereta Class Battle Fortress
the first ship of the Border Fleet, the Sian Dereta Class Battle Fortress was a powerful ship and the only
ship ever deployed by the Tirolians with two relatively powerful Heavy Reflex Cannons. Containing an
excellent mix of weapons and mecha, this class quickly proved the value of the Border Fleet and convinced
the Robotech Masters to expand their concept of the Border Fleet to include several new classes.

Sian Macross Class Battle Fortress
The Sian Macross Class Battle Fortress was the last ship designed by the Tirolian Mercantile Empire and
had two purposes. The first purpose was to be the testbed for a wide variety of new technologies, including
a very powerful Heavy Reflex Cannon, and its second purpose was to become the mainstay of the Border Fleet.
The ship also had a third, secret purpose. By the 1940's CE, the Robotech Masters had become convinced that
Dolza was plotting against them, which he was, and to respond, the Robotech Masters had designed this ship
in secret and it was to the main ship in a hugely expanded Border Fleet that would be able to stop any
Zentraedi rebellion. Whether the Robotech Masters had enough time to put their plans in place is unknown,
but what is known is that the twelve prototypes of this class built were primarily used by VIPs during the
years they were in service. The most notable ship in this class, the Macross, was assigned to transport Zor
on his seeding missions, but Zor was able to place a powerful sentient artificial intelligence named Ih'va,
or Eve by the first Human explorers, and when he was killed in a small rebellion on the planet where his last
seed mission was taking place, the computer followed his last instructions by sending the ship away from the
Tirolian Mercantile Empire. Eventually, the ship crashed on Earth and the Zentraedi arrived ten years later
and the First Robotech War began between the people of Earth and the Zentraedi.

Robotech Factory Satellite
Built to service the military fleets of the Tirolian Mercantile Empire, the Factory Satellites were largely
automated space stations that moved from one star system to the next in prearranged patterns, meeting and
repairing Border Fleet ships at each location. While heavy armed and armored, the Factory Satellites were
not designed for combat and would often fold out of a star system at the fist signs of trouble; these ships
were far too valuable to the Robotech Masters to waste in combat.
